Paintings

To find out if a picture is already sold or to check
the details and price of each original oil painting,
please go to the Gallery and select a series.
By clicking on an individual picture within the series,
you can enlarge the picture.
Lighthouse Art original oil paintings are painted
on canvas and stretched on a frame and painted
on the side. Framing of an original oil painting can be arranged on request for an additional fee.

Deckchairs
Imagine having your own original deckchair with a LIGHTHOUSE ART print. You will be the grooviest person on the beach! Great for a present as well! The enterprise that makes these very hard wearing and durable deckachairs employs skilled people with a wide range of disabilities to build deckchairs and outdoor furniture, using sustainable timber products. Commissions

  If you like my style of painting and have something you want
  to be put on canvas please ask me about painting on commission.
  It is very simple.

  All you need to do is contact me (by email or phone)
  regarding your idea and the size of canvas you require.

Once you agree on the design and quote it is LIGHTHOUSE ART's policy to recieve 50% deposit for the commission (to cover materials) and final payment for commission and freight when painting is finished.

Depending on the size it can take up to two months to finish a painting.

Hamlin fistula hospital ethiopia print

The proceeds of these prints are being donated,
together with a specially designed painting,
to the Hamlin Fistula Hospital
in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.

This hospital specializes in helping women
with injuries caused by obstructed labour. Because women marry young (14 years)
and have babies before their bodies are ready and they are sometimes in labour for five days.

When the dead baby finally comes out the woman is left with terrible internal injuries.
There is a hole in her bladder and sometimes her rectum. Urine and stool flows out
without a way to stop it. She is constantly wet and very smelly.
Her husband leaves her and she sometimes lives alone with this condition for twenty years
before she gets taken or found by the people from the fistula hospital.

    A simple operation is all that is needed.
    But sometimes the injuries are so bad
    the women are permanently disabled.

    The money from this donation will help
    more women to reach this hospital
    and have a chance to live a normal life again.
